Program Characteristics
Intelligent Design Throughout

For a software program to be useful, it must first be usable. Collective Data understands that implementing any new system can be intimidating and time consuming. With this in mind Collective Data employs a new approach to application software development: the Desktop Design. By employing the Desktop Design, we have taken a giant leap forward in simplifying the process of implementing a comprehensive maintenance management software system. The keys to the concept are familiarity and flexibility. The Desktop Design functions like a traditional PC desktop: icons provide shortcuts to modules and screens within the application. Not only do we give the user the power to customize their program desktop, we give them power to create an unlimited number of desktops specific to the needs of individuals of departments within the organization. Desktops can be constructed for mechanics, operators, managers or whoever needs access to the program. Each desktop can be populated with icon shortcuts to reports, views or modules specific to the needs of an individual user or department. This flexibility represents a significant time saving element for all users. Uniformity of controls and views is another aspect of our focus on usability. By giving users a single, coherent set of controls throughout all views, modules and data entry points, we eliminate the confusion and wasted time that result from other program designs. |
Views and data fields are of uniform design making data entry consistent for all modules and sections. Auto complete, quick add and quick modification along with familiar controls also provide a simplified pathway for data entry and data modification. With our intelligent design features, there is no need to learn or relearn navigation or data entry procedures. Usability Features
